Puzzle Help Please

Please could someone have a look at this puzzle? It says there is only 1 nine letter word in the grid and I am getting 2. OWNERSHIP and SHIPOWNER which are both valid words in the dictionary.
It says none of the words may be plurals, foreign words or proper nouns and I have to fess up I have no idea what proper nouns are.

Im off on a mag posting spree now so will pop back in a bit. Thanks as always

Proper nouns are things like names, brand names, countries etc. - like John, Samsung, Manchester for example.

I think whoever set the magazine puzzle probably didn't notice SHIPOWNER in there.

Ah right, thanks for explaining the proper nouns Sue, you learn something new everyday as they say.

I dont know if it's best to post now and people can make their own minds up on which answer to use or to hold off and email them.

If anyone wants to add in whether they think its best to post or not feel free, I will crack on with some comps now and will come back the the thread later see what the majority want.

I agree with SueMaggie. I reckon that they are looking for ownership and did not even think about shipowner.

Just adding my support, I would also go for Ownership, because that is a common word. Shipowner wouldn't necessarily be one word, or at least not commonly thought of as being one word.
