Pretty bubbles in the air?

I not sure if this is the most appropriate board for this post but here goes.
It has been claimed that the current rise in asset prices, particularly property, is fuelled by a credit bubble which has flooded the world with amazingly (at the time) cheap and readily available money which appears, now, to becoming more expensive to service / obtain.
When one looks at historic bubbles e.g South Sea, Black tulip et al did the people at that time have the same information or gut feeling as we do today and if not are we doomed to make the same financial mistakes?
