    Working in this manner doesn't necessarily mean that the Tax Credits have been diddled out of anything. Still entirely possible - maybe even probable - that the OP declared her earnings for what they were. And her TC award would be the same on the same income, regardless of how and where she works, assuming the criteria for minimum hours had been met (I haven't read the old thread that shows the OP's TC situation, though).

    Still potentially awkward for OP (and employer, in particular) if a random check was conducted, though.
