Natwest mortgage application posted on Monday, phone call on Wednesday to offer us a mortgage. I was panacking as we had some credit card debt which we paid off the day before application and an overdraft that we us all the time. Now the stressful bit as we are having to live in a hotel for a month until our new build is ready.

Is this a decision in principle?
What did you submit on Monday?
As long as you tick the "to be repaid on, or before, completion" box, when you pay off debt is largely irrelevant.
Have you submitted a formal application, payslips/P60s, evidence of deposit etc and paid the valuation and arrangement fees?I am a mortgage broker.
