I had expected to get a letter from Nationwide informing me of a new payment seeing as we paid quite a large sum at the beginning of this month, but as yet, nothing.
Was I wrong to be expecting a letter telling me about a lower payment every month (will still be doing overpayments every month, just not to the extent of this month!)?Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

There are definitely a lot worse places to work than Tesco! I imagine it being quite rewarding in some aspects. I'd probably find it really cool, working with the public. Though there's always exceptions!0

Ooh, I do love seeing the date move back when you do an overpayment, haha!
Mine's now at 3rd June 2021, yay! Of course, this is if everything stays the same and interest rates are bound to go up at some point, yawn.
I'm pretty skint this month though and venturing off to Butlins at the end of the month as it's something my girls will enjoy. Still a cheap holiday though, better than taking them off to Spain which they probably wouldn't appreciate at their age.
Still in the process of buying things for their room. Completely going to decorate it in August and buying things as and when so I don't get a big shock at the beginning of August.
So far, have bought the cushioned lino and paint for the walls. Major thing to buy is their bunkbeds which I am doing with an Argos card. Applied for it last month and they do this thing where if you spend over a certain amount on furniture, you can pay if off interest free over a year. Yay!Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Haha, god think I'm a little bit obsessed.
Just spent a couple of hours redoing all my spreadsheets with a formula of how to calculate interest. Up to now, I was just doing it from the month before, but taking some money (I know, so technical - huh?), but now my spreadsheets are showing that if we keep up the overpayments and the interest rate doesn't change, we will be mortgage free on 3rd July 2021, so gone back a month, but I can live with that. And hopefully make more overpayments!Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Did you get your letter off Nationwide?Mortgage free I: 8th December 2009!

Just found this thread of mine again, quite nice reading back over it.
Pawlala - yep, I get a letter every month now telling me that my payment each month has gone down.
Not much has changed, except now my children are 5 and 3 now, haha.
Still going with the overpayments as much as we can. I now just overpay £1,000 every month, so with the monthly payment being about £515 at the moment, paying just over the £1,500 mark.
If I see money in the joint account at the end of the month, that gets chucked on too. And with there not being any council tax or water in Feb and Mar, I chucked an extra £300 on there last month.
Mortgage free date is still annoyingly 3rd July 2021, but the amount we owe the day before is going down, so hopefully that date will still get moved a little with my little £20, £50 here and there.
I'm still having not much of a life, but I have decided that if I want to take the girls out somewhere, then I will. I'm not on the breadline and I can't sacrifice everything.
So I took them to the circus the other week which was cheap enough. It was the meal afterwards in the ultra posh garden centre that cost a fortune. I couldn't help myself and everyone called me tight, but I didn't buy anything for myself, made my girls share a kids' portion of sausage and chips, and then when my youngest didn't eat all of hers, I wolfed it down.
And in the Easter hols, I am planning on taking them on one big day out as I don't often take them out. Me and my friends were thinking of LEGOLAND, but apparently the queuing for rides is an hour and we think that is too much for little ones. Plus there is only one of me and two children, so how do I accompany the two of them on a ride?
Any suggestions of where we could go (London, Herts area) would be much appreciated. I'm thinking London Zoo now as the Bakerloo Line goes pretty much straight there, although a bit of a walk from Regents Park. Parking is a lot though, and I hate driving in London, so don't think I'd bring my car.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010
