Please help guys!

I don't have an overdraft with halifax as I don't require one. On Friday I paid in some money into my halifax account using my llyolds current account. After about 15/20mins I transferred the money back into my llyolds account. I then recieved a letter on tuesday saying I used a unplanned overdraft and will be charged £15.00. I did'nt know what this was for but when I checked my halifax account it had put the payment incoming from llyolds date as Monday and payment going out as Friday .

I sent the payment on Friday and this was sent using faster payment so I don't see why I was charged for the unplanned overdraft fees when I used my own money? The money was sent using my llyolds current account to halifax which I then debited on the same day.

Is this halifax fault can I claim my money back I never been In a overdraft before?

Sorry about puncation I am using iphone.

The amount was over £1000. Llyolds online banking also says the payment went out on friday?

If the money was there and it let you transfer it, then write to them, explain and say you think it's a Bit unfair you are charged.

See what they say before getting grumpy with them. May be an automated thing.

I going to ring tomorrow should I ask for compensation which I will donate to charity?

I would write, not ring. That way they can't fob you off as easy and you have a copy of the response. No rush here is there?

Also make sure they don't ark your credit file in any way.

As for compensation, very unlikely. Maybe the price of the stamp and a fiver for your time if you are lucky. No harm in asking mind...

The account is currently in negative as they took the £15 fees out. I use this account to get the £5 by putting in the £1000 in order to get the £5 it seem you can't deposit it in and then Take it out without the system thinking your using a overdraft.

Ok, might be worth a call saying you will be following up in writing.
They take the fee out straight away? That's unusual. But I've never banked with them.

Ah. No matter. Just complain. Seems like their system is a bit rubbish.

    Thank you happy bunny!!!
  • System is rubbish as said above. I have so many issues with it and I always win with them.

Just recently they refused my complaint and told me that something hadn't happened, but the very next day, exactly what I said would happen, happened.

Sometimes you can guess what will happen with them. I now make more from them than they make from me :-)
