Leaving work while claiming ESA

Ive been off sick for nearly 18months with a leg injury. I feel my company is going to sack me for "not following company sick policy". I'm not bothered about it but I'd rather leave willingly than go through the grief of having meetings and taking time out my day to suit them, when they can't do the same for me. If I willingly leave, will it effect my ESA? As it is Employment Support Allowance and I won't be in employment if I do. I am in the process of getting a job more suitable for me and I don't need that job to go back to.
