Can I just say my wife's tax code of BR as been the same for the past 12 years, is this also normal? She's been receiving the same pensions also for the length of time.

    Thx

How many pensions, what are the associated tax codes?
The only thing that is constant is change.

Sounds fairly likely to be normal, yes.

Only one source of income can receive the main tax code which usually carries the tax-free personal allowance. In your wife's case this is attached to her pension.

The 2nd source of income will normally use the BR tax code as all of the tax-free allowance is being used on the main source of income. Occasionally, depending on amounts for each income, the personal allowance can be split so that each income receives some of the tax-free personal allowance.

However this doesn't seem necessary but as I said earlier if you provide figures for each source of income - ie state pension, works pension and salary from her job - we could help further.

Until you do so, we are only guessing what seems most likely.
