Indirectly they may have benefited. I doubt that many would have had a different approach even if they had received a reduced income due to less money swilling round the economy.
Many would prefer to not incur debt(s) of any size other than perhaps a mortgage. They would have managed their way through life regardless, of the HPI driven growth effect and still been in a stronger position than their cohort."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop...
