Transcom Worldwide - repercussion of being hacked?

Hello!

This morning I received a letter from Transcom Worldwide. It's just what other's have described being very dubious looking, the slip at the bottom is photocopied and looks like a royal scam!

I've downloaded the 3rd party debt letter to send to them, I feel a bit peeved I have to even use my ink and paper and pay for a recorded delivery!

They say they are collecting debt on behalf of Ebay, now my account got hacked into last month and I had £75 taken out to cover Ebay fee by some person called Sarl Europe. The money they are wanting is more £90 something, I guess thats to cover their 'fees'.

Paypal were very good and acted very quickly and refunded me the money. Am I right in thinking they have managed to get hold of my information because the money that was fraudulently taken out of my account has still not been paid and is still marked as me owing it?

Also should I include this in my letter? I don't want to admit to knowledge of any money being owed incase they can somehow use this against me.

Is there a help line that could advise me and should I also forward this letter to the police/agency that deals with fraudulent claims? - if there is such a thing?

Many Thanks for any help

Sarl Europe is the company that processes the payments of Ebay fees on behalf of Ebay, nothing fraudulent about that.
  • No! definitely not giving anyone ANY money!!

What I was asking is should I add into the letter Im sending them; that I downloaded off this website the reason why I might be shown to have debt - because I was hacked by some idiot somewhere that used my ebay account to sell items on the site and then I had the ebay fees taken from my paypal. So obviously the fee payments are still unaccounted.
I'm not saying I'll be paying them, absolutely not, but as it was my ebay account they were put against by whoever it was - I am the one who is getting the letter of unpaid fees..

Sorry - I thought Sarl Europe was the actual person that had used my paypal to use it to pay for their ebay fees. That's what its showed on my paypal account.

I have contacted eBay, not sure how to get in contact with paypal as there are no options.

Ebay suspended my account on the 30th April which I only found out about today when I logged into my account.

Transcom have also phoned today, I was out in the middle of a uni exam, so didn't get to speak to them.

Really hoping this gets sorted quickly as I'm in the middle of uni exams and can't be doing wasting time sending emails back and forth for something I didn't do. It's just a massive pain in the backside.

You obviously didn't look very hard

Try the contact us link at the bottom of the page and then "Call Us". It gives a phone number and will also give you an authorisation number to use.
