What are you looking forward to the most after becoming debt free?

We already have a mortgage, but once im debt free we won't be over paying on this. My kids are too young to miss out on the good things we could afford to do with that spare money than to waste years over paying on our mortgage
I am very much like you OP on that i live for and around my debts! I am sure i have budget/debt management OCD as each day i will sit with my note book and work out this and that, I really wind my husband up with it.
I will try and get as obsessed with savings as i am with doing my debt figures. 1 day i will take these 3 kids to Florida, and its either before Sept 2015 or never as they all slowly but surely start comprehensive school and that will cost us enough!0 -

This happens to me all the time. It's been startling to discover just how 'normal' it is considered to have debt as a constant, natural thing like a utility bill.
People have said 'well done' to me, simply for being debt free, even without knowing what a slog it was, as though being debt free is an achievement in itself. People tell me that I'm lucky and that they envy me. It's bizarre and, I'm prepared to admit, rather gratifying to hear!
For those of you still on your journeys, trust me, it's another thing to look forward to :rotfl:I'm a...I'm a real traditionalist of course0 -
Once I pay off what is in my signature which should be in the next few weeks I am going all guns to get my O/D from when I was a student paid off. I basically live it in half the month so its going to be paid off in one whack not xx amount per month.
Then all the money in my account will truly be mine."All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered, the point is to discover them."

Looking forward to speeding my dfd forward to hopefully 2 years. So i will enjoy being 800 pound per month better off!! So this will partly go in emergency fund, partly overpayment on mortgage but not until we have saved for 3 months and had a nice family holiday abroad!!
Be nice to not have to worry in the queue as to whether i have enough funds to cover what i need and to have a little savings account growing. L2B.xLBM 2008 [STRIKE]£45,091.23[/STRIKE] eek: now £7889:T Debt free date 18/07/20180 -

I don't know what I am going to do when I am debt free. I know I will cry with happiness when I pay off my final debt though, just as I cried when I paid off the first one in the middle of March
Sad, I know, but I was so proud lol
I planned to buy a new laptop when debt free, but I don't really need one, I just want one, so I probably won't get it. I also plan to go on holiday, but may not bother with that eitherSPC9 #125 - £816.85
