Sold Debts

Hi,

I've been in a DMP now for about 3 years and am looking at trying to make full and final offers to my creditors, can anybody tell me how I can find out if any of my debts have been sold on.

Can your DMP company not tell you who they are making payements to on your behalf?

I have been given info about which ones have been passed on but not sure if that's the same as sold?

Yeah I think it is... I have 2 accounts with DCA and the way I understand it is that they purchased the debt from the original company. So it is now the DCA that I can agree settlements with. When I phone to make overpayments to DCA they always say things like "If you clear in full today I could offer you a reduce rate of..." So I guess that it would be them you would negotiate with.

Your credit report should list the current owners.

Make sure you get offers in writing, and that they won't sell on the remainder or chase you for it themselves.

Don't sign the letters with you own handwriting, just do it electronically.

I've been doing this myself over the past couple of weeks, its really great seeing the balance drop in big chunks:D
