This year's compost?

I've found the B&Q stuff to work fine too. Mind, I'm not fussy about special compost this or special compost that... I just fill my (large) pots, plunk plants in and that's it
Some of my stuff, like for example my winter jasmine, has been in the same pot/compost for 14 years and still growing...
Edit: and shock horror, I use the same general compost for cuttings and seeds too... Never had anything not grow so far :rotfl:Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0 -
Nearest Hilliers is unfortunately 60 miles and B&Q is quite a journey
I've just been to my local independent nursery and they have "Growise" for baskets & tubs 3x56L for £12. Peat free. Has anybody used this?
Longacres in Bagshot has 3x60L of their own multi-purpose for £10, if there are any locals here have they used it? This one I think contains peat.
Longacres also sell the New Horizon 3x50L £12.00. Peat free.0 -
Godwins multi purpose is consistently good, a few twigs but nothing to worry about and 3 x 70lt bags for £110
-
Just bought the New Horizon multi purpose compost, which did really well in Which reviews from Morrisons. The bags are 50 ltrs £4 per bag and on buy 2 get 3rd free. So £8 for 150 ltrs.0

Just phoned my 2 nearest Morrisons and been told they have 40L bags, 2 for £5.00, denied all knowledge of the offer you found - I wonder if they have different offers in different parts of the country.0 -

Maybe different stores have different offers, Ive just double checked my receipt and definitely got 3 x 50ltrs for £80 -
I've just called my local garden centre and the offers that they have for New Horizon peat free multi purpose 56 litre bags is
1 x 56 litre bag = £4.99
3 x 56 litre bag = £12.99 (168 litres)
6 x 56 litre bag = £20.00 (336 litres)0 -
I'd buy a lottery ticket if I were you. Yours obviously came without the pieces of plastic, twigs and so on.
My two 125 litre bales have been just about acceptable.but worse than last year's. I have seen similar reports on dedicated gardening forums, too.
Could be worse, though. The emergency sack of Bowers I bought could have been sold as a fungus growing kit.0 -

Are you sure you did not over water the compost, water + nutrients + light = algae0
