Tried, failed, need advise!

Hi,

As many others on here i`m at the point where i cannot continue due to the financial situation that i am in. Long story short i got divorced 2 years ago being left with £31k of debt accrued by the now ex-wife, the divorce agreement meant i got £11k out of the house of which £9k went back into solicitors fees etc (yes she was a real b**** using legal aid / delaying things etc as much as possible). I have attempted to struggle on but it`s come to the point where either i need serious help or i`ll fall behind.

Incomings:

Salary of £30k / £1911 per month

Outgoings:

Loan £245 / month
Credit Cards £609 / month
Rent £325 / month
Fuel £150 / month
CSA £307 / month
Food £200 / month (including lunch)
Clothing / Cleaning £35 / month

The above is pretty much close to the incoming amounts each month, i`m just not seeing a way through any of it and the debts are not reducing. Any help or advise on where to start would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Are the debts in your name? If they're in her name, I don't see why you're paying them!

I think you have more outgoings than on your first post. If you could do a full statement of affairs (format for mse), people could advise better.

My first thought was bankruptcy but you have a good income and low housing costs so a debt management plan may be better but it's hard to say without more info

Unfortunately not and she`s got away with it all.

Ok i`ll complete the SOA and see, i`ve just had a pack through from stepchange and considering a DMP but before i make any moves i want to ensure it`s the right thing to do.
