About certain Competwition comps?
For instance;
This one
(Nothing against the OPs of these comps mind)
But I can see just from looking at the person holding the comp to see it's probably a fake
It's seems at least 8 out of 10 comps on that site are being held by kids / teens looking for more followers. I did start informing Competwition of this a while back and they removed them but upon checking one day to find 9 - I got a bit fed up.

It seems so many of their comps run for a while and then the profile 'no longer exists' or spam has been reported etc etc.. I tend to not hold out much hope for them! Probably not much you can do though... the people who run competwition must have a double workload, posting the comps on behalf of the companies, and dealing with complaints/requests to remove them from public or maybe even twitter itself. Not sure how it all works to be honest.I smile because I have absolutely no idea what's going on:dance:0

Just don't enter them is all I can say - I used to work for a company advertising businesses & we were not allowed to refuse advertising just because the company looked dodgy - I suspect they have the same rules - you can't say from your end if a comp is genuine ( I remember one for a pre-loaded ipod - I think he was getting rid of his old one)proud gran to 4 lovely boys and one little girl0

I don't enter competwition comps anymore as I heard that the majority were fake. I used to enter every one and never won a thing!:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0

One of my early wins was a lovely competwition win, for an electric guitar - from Dawsons music.

I've won a pair of Oakley sunglasses and a signed union j postcard from competwition wins. I still enter them, as it's just a tweet and takes no time at all, but if I win I proceed with caution and do some searching before I give out my detailsI smile because I have absolutely no idea what's going on:dance:0

I have won with competwition too - I'm more concerned about these ones you can see are definitely fake - there were two a few weeks (maybe months) back from a young girl "giving away" a laptop and iPad as she had 2 of each for her birthday :eek:Thanks to all posters :A0 -
I agree some are definitely dodgy, I tend to only enter ones that seem to be run by legit businesses/accounts.
Related side note - lately I've been having to click 'Authorise Account' 2 or 3 times each time I try to enter anything on the Competwition site. Anyone else having this problem or is it just me?0 -
I've had to authorise the app every time I've entered recently too.
I have won from Competwition but it was a small prize from a clearly legit comp run by a national magazine. I agree some of them are so obviously fake and wonder why people would go to such lengths to get followers? Who really cares, it's not as if they are the Beyonces of this world and are suddenly going to get the likes of Pepsi paying them to tweet! Boggles my mind :$0
