I used to rattle around a large house which shot up in value 4 years ago. It had an enormous garden and was the perfect family home, though not ideal for a single woman. I seemed to spend a lot of time cleaning and had to pay for a gardener, as the previous owners had allowed people to look around the garden and admire it!
I sold up and moved to a terraced house in a less salubrious, but much friendlier area and haven't looked back since. I now have a small garden that I can enjoy and clean the house from top to bottom in 2 hours. I may no longer have the huge house, but I'm richer in other ways.0 -
