Assessment Day?

I had a first interview last week for a charity.
Today I have been invited back for an Assessment Day.
There will be 3 x 45 minute group tasks.
Has anyone had experience of these?
How many people attend?
Any tips?!
:D

I used to run assessment centres as second stage interviews. We usually invited 12 people on the basis that 9 would turn up. Most of the challenges I used were based around NASA exercises. My favourite one was when we used to tell them that they were stranded on the moon and give them a list of 15 items that they had. The group then had to agree how to prioritise the items that they had.

    Things to consider:
If you are given a time limit for a challenge then nominate yourself as time keeper - this was something that always scored bonus points.
Don't get aggressive. I know it sounds simple but so many people do, especially when they feel that others are talking over them.
Compliment and praise other people's ideas.
Take an active role in the exercises, don't just sit back and let others do the talking.

    Best of luck

    Thanks Madvixen.
Would you be observing and marking a number of candidates all at the same time?
I am surprised at the amount of assessing involved as it's only a part time telephone based job.
I suppose a number of candidates feel they have to come out as the winner rather than the best team player.
Did you also do role play? That's the one that un-nerves me the most!
