What I was thinking it might be possible do is to place a sell order on each individual investment trust holding at say 5% below the current price (CP) if this was well below the normal trading range followed by a buy order at 70% below CP. (Assuming a crash would n't drop the share price much below this level). I have n't looked into with Alliance as I doubt there system is sophiscated enough or whether this is possible with any other online (SIPP) broker. In anycase I have ruled that out because of Ed's comments above about the possibility of "missing the boat" when prices fall, but having said that, would it not work in my favour if there was a bounce back?
