If you look back within the last 10-15 pages of this thread we've all been discussing this issue. General consensus right now is he will have to verify by post if he's in the UK for his first redemption of Swag Bucks.

The one you're brother is trying to do is different from the normal verification, I think. There is a one-off account verification that you're supposed to be able to do by text message or postcard. The text message thing doesn't seem to work now in the UK so it has to be by postcard which takes around 10 days. After that you only need to verify any gift cards or paypal by email or by answering a question which is what I think you are referring to

I was confused as I'd never done anything like that, mine is just an email verification and confirming a security question like you said. I am hoping to redeem tomorrow so will see if they have altered it for me as well.

I did my verification last year, so I don't think there's any specific time-scale for existing members, but everyone will have to to it once. It could be tomorrow for you or a couple of months - it's hard to tell
