Approval from Nationwide today - whoooooooooooo!!!
So next stage conveyancing, which is being done by a friend of ours.
I don't really "get" what is so complicated about conveyancing, but at this stage is there any active involvement from myself required, other to prod the process along from time to time and stumping up funds at completion...?
It's a relatively new build so don't anticipate any real issues with surveys, paperwork etc.

You'll probably be required to pay a deposit to cover the search fees. Once the draft contract is in hand from the vendor's solicitor they should be able to request the local search immediately. I assume your friend works for a solicitor.
For a solicitor there's nothing particularly complicated about the conveyancing, as they do it all the time.
So at this stage all your need to do is to let him/her get on with it. They'll soon let you know when money is required!Early retired - 18th December 2014
