I'm on a diet (seemingly forever!) and looking for a low fat flapjack recipe to eat pre-training/workout.
Really low calorie would be good as if it could be used as a snack as well that would be ideal...

You'd be better eating a bowl of yoghurt and some fruit rather than all that cereal.

There's a great recipe here which uses eggs as a binder, so far less sugar/butter than normal flapjacks. They work out at around 190 calories each for a generous flapjack, and they are quite filling. Hope this helps! (it won't let me post the link as I am a new user but I'll just paste the recipe below)
3 cups muesli or any combination of cereals, oats, nuts & dried fruit
1/2 cup plain flour
1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup honey
60 g butter, melted
2 eggs, beaten
Preheat the oven to 180C fan
grease and line a slice pan with baking paper
In one bowl, mix together the flour and muesli/nuts/fruit
In a heat-proof jug or bowl, mix together the butter, sugar and honey melt (microwave or stove) until the sugar has dissolved and it has formed a smooth mixture.
Add the mixture to the muesli/flour and stir to combine.
Add the beaten eggs and mix it all up until everything is evenly distributed.
Spread the batter into the tin and press down with the back of a spoon making sure that the top of the slice is even.
Bake for 25 minutes or until golden.
Be aware that the slice will harden as it cools so don’t overcook it.
Leave it in the tin to cool completely and then cut up and serve.
Can be frozen in individual portions.0 -
There's lots of good recipes out there that use peanut butter as a binder (I can't vouch for taste as I'm allergic but could be worth a try) xx0
