Tesco Bread Flour

For ages I have been buying Tesco strong bread flour at 62p per 1.5kg bag. It went up to seventy something pence and when I went yesterday it was £1.32. That is a ridiculous price rise when Carr's (which in my opinion is better) is on offer at 98p in Sainsburys, and Sainsburys own is only 80p! Tescos have really got some nerve the way they increase prices.

thats why i hate tesco they get people in,with their "so called"cheap prices then up things that people use,on a regular basis.out of all the stores tesco is the craftiest at doing this. Before you point fingers, make sure your hands are clean !;)0

I wonder if they've got a baking event coming up. They always increase the prices when they have one.0

There was also a chap on the wirleess the other day saying that because of bad harvests last year we will soon be seeing the £2.00 + loaf of bread by the autumn and flour is going to dramatically increase in price Apparently Weetabix have removed some of their products because its not economical to make them owing to the rising cost of flour and wheat and corn based products are all going to rise over the next six months. It won't be a case of 'let them eat cake or even bread' , we shall be going without the 'staff of life' at this rate.If you see flour at a reasonable price I would buy it now while you can if its on offer0

but don't buy too much as after a while it may get flour mites. Wouldn't buy more than 6 months supply and then store in airtight containers.0
