Hello lovely DFWers!!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging the washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important:

Today I will:

- not increase my debt in any way
- spend as little as possible while the children are ski racing
- finish loading my mystery shops online
- do some housework when I get home this evening (scary)
- put on a matched bet or two
- update my snowball calculator for the latest wave of repayments
- be positive

Have a good day everyone, and I hope the weather holds for you all x

Hi hypno, hi all. Hypno, I love the bit you've started to put on, about "not increasing your debt in any way" - I think its really important, there's been quite a bit on recently about burnout .... it just emphasizes what we need to remember, like the whole of this thread.

    Today. Today I'll be:
    - not increasing my debt in any way:money: .
    - going to a free exhibition, and walking there and back:p .
    - doing a bit of gardening - (more) free exercise:rotfl: , plus its good input into the house:D .
    - working on the building quote I'll be giving to builders, on studying matched betting and a bit of financial study online:eek: .
    - my version of a storecupboard meal, have soaked beans overnight and will pop them in the slow cooker soon:A .
    - have done some surveys this morning:A .
    - will try to update mse sig today - nearly done it:rolleyes: .

Don't quite know why I decided to have fun with the smilies today, but all harmless fun is good, right? So there you go......... :rotfl:

    Morning everyone

    Today I will...

Not increase my debts at all (I really like this one too, it's like a positive affirmation!)

Attempt my weekly food shop on £10

Check my bank account and credit card account online to make sure everything's as it should be

Start sorting my budget for next month

Do something free and fun like cycling or skating

Congratulate myself for nearly being at the end of month 2 in my plan to become debt free :D
If you know you have enough, you're rich. ;)
  • Hello
I'm desparately trying to cut down mega next month soooo I've just done a monthly shop online to see if I can save a bit by cutting down on my shopping bills. we shall see if I don't go near any shops in June I won't spend any money (that's the theory anyway) ooh and I've just earned 1000 tesco points by doing so! I'm new, must do a signature - currently sorting out to start on the road to debt free.

    Today I will

    * Not increase my debt any further

    * Start as I mean to go on with my 'clicks routine' and sign up for ALL the cash back sites

    * Set up a budget spreadsheet to use on a daily basis

    * Do meal planner for the week (storecupboard challenge this week) and check shopping list on mysupermarket (must be less than £30 this week :o )
