Registering cards for cashback

I have seen that some cashback sites allow you to register your card with them so when you shop offline you can still get cashback.
What I am wondering is what happens if your card is registered with more than one site? Surely they will not all pay cashback for the same purchase - does anyone know which cashback site is best to register with?
