Toothpaste for sensitive teeth

Anyone care to settle an argument?!
OH uses Sensodyne obsessively (always had very sensitive teeth) and finds it very effective. I was dispatched to shop tonight to "buy toothpaste" and have committed a huge sin and bought Colgate Sensitive Something Or Other. It was on offer.....that was my only defence.
She has now threatened to bite me if it doesn't work as well as Sensodyne. I did point out her teeth would be too sensitive to bite me but she is not seeing the funny side of this at all.
So, is there any bloomin difference between two sensitive teeth products?! Or is it all in her crazy head?!

I bought Mr T's own sensitive and it did just as good a job as sensodyne.0

My dentist gave me a sample of Colgate Sensitive to try on a sensitive tooth, worked a treat."When one door closes another door opens; but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us" Alexander Graham Bell0

My dentist also gave me a Colgate Sensitive sample. I was impressed enough to buy more; though I did get some cheap in Home Bargains. Never quite got on with Sensodyne.0

I'm off to tell her she's crazy. Wish me luck!:D0

Sensitive toothpaste works best if you rub it onto teeth at night and then spit don't rinse, otherwise you waste the good stuff down the sink and it doesn't have a chance to sit on the teeth.
In fact to be money saving brush with ordinary stuff then just rub sensodyne, Colgate rapid relief or whatever , in afterwards.0 -
I always swore by Sensodyne but after trying Mr T's because it was on offer at 75p, I don't notice a difference.
Like brook2jack says rubbing it on helps me the most.0 -
Colgate's worked very well for me. Just like their ad, in fact!Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

I must admit, I have been very impressed with Colgate Pro Relief. It does seem very effective.
But as others have said - rub a little bit around the gums last thing at night after first brushing your teeth with a usual (but cheaper) fluoride toothpaste, and it will last much longer, and be more effective. How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
My dentist gave a sample of pro relief, after years of using Sensodyne, all I can say is it works better for me, and has a nicer taste. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Well, I told her she was crazy. She took it well all things considered. I showed her your responses and she has threatened to hunt you all down and say bad things to you if this new Colgate isn't as good as her trusty old Sensodyne.0
