Please can anyone tell me who are the Employer Error Team in Walsall.
My mate has a case ongoing and trying to sort out in regards of a underpayment since before Xmas (P800), and she received a letter to say they could not reply to her query on the phone when she rang them back in early April because they have forwarded the query to their Employer Error Team.
And will reply in full after they finished dealing with it.
(She has no access to the internet) so asked if I could ask someone here, thanks in advance.
Does anyone know if this is standard procedure for it to be dealt with by the HMRC "Employer Error Team"?

It is if she (or HMRC) think the underpayment was not her fault but an error made by her employer.
The employer error team usually contact the employer to ask for an explantion of how the error occured. How quickly the appeal is resolved depends on how quickly the employer responds to the query from HMRC.
Ultimately the tax is due and has to be paid either by your friend or the employer. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Thank you.
As far as i'm aware when she came from one job to start another she said she handed in the employer part of her P45 to her new employer, and was informed it was autmatically sent to HMRC that same week.
It was about Oct or Nov last year she received a letter about an underpayment (not too much) but it startled her then she learnt from the HMRC that the employer did not send in the P45 but a P46 instead where she signed a certain part, but she claims it's the first she heard of it as she was not given anything to sign, so it looks like the employer had done this, despite the fact of them confirming they did send the P45. She has proof by email apparently.
Again thanks. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
