Fees in Employment Tribunals

The draft proposals for fees in Employment Tribunals are now available (they are likely to go through in this form)

http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukdsi/2013/9780111538654/pdfs/ukdsi_9780111538654_en.pdf

Schedule 3 sets out the circumstances in which the claimant is entitled to an exemption from fees. Provided claimants get advice and/or understand the information, a lot of people will be exempt from paying fees (sadly I think that there will be a significant number of people who will see 'fees' and don't realise they may be exempt)

When exactly will they start charging fees from?

I've been looking for this info myself and after 30 mins all I could find anywhere was "Summer 2013" so sounds like they haven't decided yet. One possible reason for the vagueness could be that they sill need to put in place operations to accept and handle the fees, including web enabled payment.

We still don't have a date. No doubt the date will be fixed when the draft order goes through parliament, so all we know at the moment is that it is likely to be Summer 2013. My money is on July, but that is just a hunch :-)

Well, I hope it's not too soon as I think I'm going to made redundant very soon, as I'm pregnant I'm just waiting for my employer to set a foot wrong (not difficult for them) and then I'll be straight in with a claim so hopefully before the fee charging starts.
