Washing Line

Options
Does anyone know where I could get a decent washing line with two poles? The only ones I can see are supplied with one pole with the idea being that you attach the other other end to a bracket on your shed or your house etc. Also a lot of the reviews have said that the poles are weak or bendy or the line is prone to sagging. Any help gratefully appreciated!
Everyone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!?

Do you know anyone in the building trade ?

Scrounge 2 scaffold tubes of the length you need and go to B+Ms and get a hank of the climbing type rope they sell for £3.49p ( far superior to washing line ).
  • 'fraid I don't! Might have to have a lurk on freegle and gumtree to see if I can get any. Thanks for the suggestion though!

When I was looking for one I found these, pricey as an original outlay but cheaper than a tumble drier, http://www.linepost.co.uk/acatalog/PP_Heavy_Duty_2.html
I managed to pick up 2 smaller ones & got someone to weld them together for me, so only paid about £20 for the post & the other end is on the house.
Try looking on your local facebook selling pages as well.

OOOF! They're a bit too pricey for what I was looking for! Thanks anyhow!

  • I got a pole and line from Argos, it wasn't expensive and am still using it 11 years on, so I'd recommend just buying 2 of the sets from there which are at a reasonable price. The actual washing lines themselves are poor quality so were replaced with a plastic coated steel one instead and the posts were set in quick set concrete which even a complete novice at DIY (like myself) can simply do - just add water - hey presto!!
