Seems to me that your chances of getting your job back are poor and a claim for constructive dismissal will be hard to prove.

I would write to the Chief Executive, explain that your motivation is not malice or that you are seeking to be reinstated, but as a concerned ex employee.

From my experience letters to the Chief Executive command immediate attention.

I work in construction so I know how important the correct treatment for JP is.

Who knows - you could even suggest that your skills would make you an ideal candidate to undertake a survey of all their other car park to look for other incidents. (turn a negative into a positive)

Most companies would have an Environmental policy (e.g) NB - this is just an example - in no way am I implying this company is OP's ex employer.

If the OP's career was not intended to be in a car park related industry in the future, I would make as much noise as possible, including the press as a last resort ( but be prepared for the company to close ranks and cite poor perfomance).

    Good luck

I think the OP should be proud of himself for sticking up for what he knew believed in and knew was right. Gives you a little faith in the world.

As other have said, I'd definitely be off to the CAB and having a 30 minute free consultation with a local solicitor.

    Good luck.

    The press won't care...

  • I had to officially identify JK last year and once it was done, it had to be returned to the place it came from and no way would I have just chucked it in a skip. You are right to have done this OP and I hope that if you do appeal and take it to a tribunal for whistle-blowing, you succeed.

    beg to differ.

Although I accept that the national press would not be interested, a small local newspaper may be.

yes that link is great and interesting. Thank you.

OP, it might be an idea to send a copy of this, or something similar in a letter to your former employer to show how much you assisted them in avoiding breaking the law.
