i recently applied for jsa and was rejected. no reason was given, simply i didnt qualify.
this is the 1st time id applied for any type of benefit in the last 20 odd years. im guessing it was because ive been self employed for years, aqnd may have missed the odd NI payment.
Savings are starting to run low, is there anyway to get some help?

There are 2 types of JSA - Contribution-based (if you’ve paid enough National Insurance contributions in the last 2 tax years.) and Income based. Income based JSA is means tested (savings and income).
I'm guessing you've been rejected for contributions based and need to re-apply for income based.0 -
Self employed NICs don't count towards contributions based JSA.0

So you can stil claim JSA, but it depends on your income levels. If you put your details into a site like entitled to you could find out more. http://www.entitledto.co.uk/
I believe the cut off for savings for JSA is £16,000. It's reduced from £6000 upwards.OD [STRIKE] £2600 [/STRIKE] £0 :j Loan [STRIKE]£9500.00[/STRIKE] £0 :j Car [STRIKE]£3150[/STRIKE] £0 :j Moving Costs [STRIKE]£1300[/STRIKE] £0 :j Savings £1150 :j
