Changing jobs when to tell CSA

Wonder if anyone can help before spending loads on phonecalls to CSA!
Hubby is paying for his 1st son via CSA but starts a new job Monday which is 2 grand less a year and also we had tax credits stopped.
he is on CSA2 and was wondering when he can tell them off less money coming in ??
he is paid weekly would he have to wait till he has had 12 weeks pay slips ??
Because to be honest with paycut and tax credits stopping we have a lot less money coming in and not sure we could cope paying the CSA amount for next 3 months based on last wages from last job and tax credits included
THx

You pay CS in arrears, tell them tomorrow, but you will have to send in the most recent payslips over the last 5 weeks, so really you need to be re-assesed in a few weeks when the income settles.0

I would notify them as quickly as possible and have a look at the online calculator to get an idea of what should be paid and try (not always easy if starting a new job from being on benefits) to save that amount so that when the CSA finally get around to notifying you about you can pay the arrears back..
I'm still waiting on my 2nd full month of wages so that they can sort out the schedule properly - so that could be 12 weeks payments before they get things sorted for me. Obviously things will be slightly different for weekly payments..

Good idea, the CSA took well over a year to assess my husbands CM.We were paying the pwc direct in a private arrangement( as had been doing for years )had no idea pwc had asked for a reassessment she hadn't said anything to us! So NONE of these payments count! The CSA gave us a (small)consolatory payment for taking so long but it left us open to keep paying the pwc the CM and everything else she asked for !0

Hubbys ex wife did the same we met when his lil boy was 18 months, after his wife decided to run off with another woman!!
we paid her a amount she agreed every month via standing order we did reduce the payment a lil when we had our lil girl but she agreed.
Then year later we had a lil boy and 4 weeks later wham bam csa letter without nothing from her..when they give us amount hubby rang as his ex wife had her payment from us that month, they rang her she said she had and how much so we paid the difference for that month whole £10. she wanted payments to cont the same ie direct from us into her bank but hubby said no she wants csa involded they can sort payments:)Extra earning 2012 From Surveys Etc

thx for the replies hes rang today with tax credits been stopped as we were getting £50 a week, not sure want net income be after tax etc so will wait for a few pay slips.
To be honest I am dreading the backlash from his changing jobs as its already started, he prewarned her with changing jobs hes on less money etc and csa will be less soon just so she knew. all he got was so you be paying less then 2 years ago before I got csa involded..she choose to get them involded!
even asked if she cancelled csa case could he go back to paying what he did before the same way!Extra earning 2012 From Surveys Etc

She chose to get the CSA involved so has to abide by their decision on maintenance. If you're partner wishes to pay anything in addition to that then that's up to you both to decide.

a word of advice: Ensure you follow up any telephone call with a WRITTEN RECORDED DELIVERY LETTER! (keep a copy of recorded del reference and the letter)
OTHERWISE THEY WILL CLAIM THEY WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE CHANGE!0 -
The CSA will accept verbal evidence of earnings over the phone if they think the figures being quoted are reasonable, and you won't need to provide payslips.
As with most government departments, its best to approach them before they approach you.0 -

They might take 'verbal evidence' but it doesn't mean things will get sorted any quicker. I've given the same information twice now about my new employer but they've not sorted out a payment schedule yet...
I've contacted them and made a payment to cover the first 8 weeks and wonder if they'll get it sorted before the end of this month.!

Even the most progressive ideas don't work in all scenarios, its true.
Having said that, the decision to take verbal evidence in all cases where reasonable figures are provided is a fairly new one, so it might take them time to catch up.0
