Windows Live Mail won't send ???

Hi folks,

My email won't send messages all of a sudden - also comes up with the put your password in box, and I do, but it just comes up again.

Any ideas? - it's not done this before.

Funnily enough, both my workstation and my wife's laptop encountered the very same problem yesterday. I'd be interested to know if you're with Virgin?

    Our solution ...

    In Live Mail,

Options (available from the drop down tab near top left corner of screen) ... Email Accounts ... Click on your email account name ... Properties ... Servers Tab ... near the bottom look for Outgoing Mail Server ... UNcheck the box that says 'My server requires authentication' ... click Apply and OK.

Let me know if that solves it please. It worked for us.

    Hi

I had a similar problem yesterday and had to rely on mywebmail account. If by chance you are a BT customer then there appears to be anintermittent fault with BT/Yahoo servers which has been going on for some time –at least a year. Google ‘BT Yahoo Mail Problems’ and you will find many, manyothers in the same frustrating position. BT’s response to me was to blame it onthe Yahoo server saying that 70,000 email customers had been affected – or possibly‘infected’.

Sorry can’t offer anything positive to help.

Luckily I've managed to get it sorted thanks to the other poster. Sorry you've had this problem though, how frustrating. Especially when you get no joy from BT!
