Pod/Capsule Coffee Machine

Options
Hi I was wondering if someone can help me,

My boyfriend and I am coming to the end of our degrees and we want to reward ourselves by buying a coffee machine. We like the idea of the ones which you put the pods of capsules in because of the wide variety of flavours.

I was wondering if someone could tell me what the best one is ?
We have a limit of around £100 but obv would prefer to spend less.

We also want one which uses pods which don't cost a fortune.

Alternatively we want a coffee machine that grinds and brews, any suggestions ?

Many thanks in advance !

  • most pod machines will cost you around 2-3 pounds for 10 coffees so not a cheap option. Pod machines will not have a grinder as they are ' pod machines' I recommend the Nesspresso Pixie, small neat machine and if you look around i think you can find it for about £80 with £40 back in pods.

Brilliant, thanks for the help. I don't suppose you could send me a link to that deal ? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

I am aware that the pod machines don't grind, we were looking into machines which grind and brew as an alternative.

  • We had a nespresso - and could only buy pods in packs of 50 from them direct which was a pain.

We ended up not using ours as regular as we thought so have gotten rid of it

Also - remember coffee machine coffee's will not be as hot as instant coffee using boiling water.

    HTH!
  • each to their own I guess, I order 200 a month.

Coffee should never be boiled optimum temp is aroun 80 degs C to release flavour, boiling just burns it and makes for a sour taste.

Nespresso offers are usually during the run up to Christmas.

The capsule ordering service is easy and delivery is free for 200 capsules or more.
