References about sick leave

I only mention the HR dept because do they not deal with administration when anyone leaves. Do not deal with the request for the reference or check it to make sure whoever has written with it complies with all relevant employment law?
Also what about if you left who sorts out the process to get the vacancy filled. Surely in some way they have to know you're leaving.
Besides all that, let them know and ask that they contact the person who the reference will go to to ensure they stress the accident nature of days off.
The HR dept are supposed to work for both employer and employee and make sure all relevant legislation is being adhered to.0 -

The outcome of adhering to the law may be to "work for the employee" but that would be a side effect of working for the employer and not the purpose for which HR is used.0 -

a job tell them about the sickness - I'm sure it will be fine especially if I go back where I came from!Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0 -
I was told once by an employer, if asked for a reference for an employee, if they couldnt give a good reference, they just refused to give one at all.. Depends on the person though, i guess!0

As long as what is written is factual and relevant, they can write anything in your reference, it is an old wives tale that references cant say anything detrimental.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

Never heard that one.
I've read our policies now and am not too worried about what can and cant go in there and how a statement has to be backed with factual evidence, and the scope of any comments that are allowed.Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0
