An issue after Bankruptcy - advice needed please

Hi all,

This is a bit long winded, so I will try to be clear and concise and make sure everything makes sense.

Okay, so I was declared bankrupt on 28/06/2007, discharged 1 year later.

1 of the creditors, Welcome Finance, that were on the bankruptcy petition, took me to court and obtained a CCJ against me on 05/11/2008, a year and half after my bankruptcy. The first I knew of this was when my work got a letter asking how much I earned etc. I called the court and asked them why I had received no paperwork etc, and they told me they sent it to the last known address for me and it wasn't their problem if I never received it. Anyway, I explained to them about the bankruptcy and the judge then adjourned it with the ability to restore should Welcome Finance prove that I still owed the debt.

The CCJ is still showing on my credit file and is like a big black mark against me. Is there anyway to get this removed? It should never have been on there in the first place. If I can't get it removed, is there anyway to get it 'satisfied' as again it is just showing as 'Judgement'.

And, the debt was obviously sold on, even after Welcome had been told about the bankruptcy because on my report I noticed a company called MKDP LLP with a default status and total balance of £2,283 showed as owing. I googled the company and got a telephone number for them, they are a debt collector. I knew I didn't actually owe anything so called them and asked what the debt was for, who the original 'owners' were. They obviously told me welcome finance. I explained to them about the bankruptcy and asked them to update the credit file to satisfied, which they haven't yet done. What kind of letter should I put to them, as I did owe the debt - not denying it, but it was covered in the bankruptcy.

Hope that all makes sense, and I would appreciate any advice. The only reason they have cropped up is due to me seeing a mortgage adviser and him flagging them up as issue's.

Thanks all.

Sometimes the court will remove the CCJ as ir should have never been made due to the BR. Presumably they are not doing that in this case? if not, then the only alternative would be to apply to formally have the CCJ "set aside".

Thanks for that, I have wrote a letter out to the debt collection company to have them ammend the details the debt is showing as.

In the case of the CCJ then, do I just phone up the court it was issued at and go from there? See if they can first of all remove the CCJ, and if not then ask them to do what?

This is my biggest issue on the credit file, a bloody CCJ that should never have been issued in the first place. If they will not remove it or do anything with it, is there anywhere else/anything else I can do?
