time limit on transfers

hi,just seeking advice concerning pensions,a few years ago i started working for the nhs,was automatically enrolled into their pension scheme but was never given any information pack about their scheme,this was,nt an issue at the time i just thought that was the way it worked untill recently when i had a reminder from an old pension scheme i had a long time ago wrote to me advising it matures later this year when i turn 60 and what did i want to do with it,the sum involved is only small,just under £3000 and i thought i could transfer this along with another worth approx £25000 into my nhs one but upon looking into this the nhs have told me i cannot transfer these penions into their one as i should have done this within my first year of joining the nhs.my point being is as i did,nt get any information regarding this when i first joined i feel as this is,nt right,has this happened before to anybody and is there anything i can do to rectify this.any replies would be greatly appreciated.many thanks

I will be very surprised if they will allow your transfer as the rules of the scheme are set in stone.

Contact The Pension Advisory Service for advice, details on their website.
As you were not given any info in the first instance I would think you have a case.
