The Forum Team that removed some posts is not part of any gang of posters. Please try to stay away from direct personal criticism of other posters and stick to trying to directly help a new poster with a question.
You didn't make a particularly helpful post about IFA charging since it's pretty obvious that they will charge and even if that wasn't obvious it has to be declared by the IFA in the initial meeting. It'd have been more interesting two years ago, well before the RDR was a fact of life. Today it's just old news and looks more like just jumping into an opportunity for some IFA bashing than being helpful.
And that combination of things is why you ended up getting criticised by other posters and had some posts removed. Easy enough to fix, just follow the be nice to other moneysavers rule and try to stick to the question rather than the person commenting. You clearly know something about handling money and it'd be nice to see you sharing that rather than just ending up squabbling instead of helping.
James, yes it's pretty obvious to you that they charge but not to someone who doesn't know. And that's the problem isn't it? It's old news to you and others and clearly you don't like some new guy coming along and stating what you regard as bleeding obvious and you project that onto some imagined anti-IFA stance.
I'll be honest and say that I didn't even realise that the guy was an IFA until later when I saw his signature - had I realised I might have put my point across in a different tone. He's famous to you but not to me.
I don't mind being criticised by other posters if they are accurate in their criticism but one guy clearly hasn't even read the thread before sticking his size 9's in.
But all in all, you are absolutely right and I agree that the squabbling is not helpful. So unless someone else wants to wade in and have a go, let's all leave it at that then eh?:A0 -

Mine are size 11s but I try and use them with precision rather than brute force.shameful conduct on your part.
I feel sure that I'll somehow manage to overcome this and move ahead in a positive way.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.0
