tooth infection

hi all.i dunno wot to do as 2 weeks ago I went to a dentist for a slight tooth ache but nothing much as I was having sinus probs so my dr just said about it.so I see a nhs lady dentist who said there was a slight infection and tried to pull my upper premolar tooth that had 2 roots on but only got half the tooth out and one root out as the other side snaped off so she game me some amoxcillian for a week but asked me to go bk the next day but tried again and unclotted my blood clot failing again and breaking it off so much now I need to see a special oral surgeon and cosing me to get dry socket.once I finished amoxcillian I was still know better so went bk and they gave me metrozole but I was so ill on it but managed to finish nearly all the course as but was pulled off it a day before finish as I was sleeping 14 hrs confued and nearly passing out so I was put on amoxcillian again but my dentist called me and said there surgeon will look if I pay private so I said yes and went today but he said he cannot do it as root is too high up so I need a surgical surgeon and has gave me more amoxcillian and said it will take up to 6 weeks but there is still an abcess present and theres nothing they can do as I need some bone removed.so I dunno wot to do I have called nhs 111 and my gp also been to dentist 7 time as im scared it will spread.nhs is awful.sorry for my bad english

    Unfortunately the only way the only way the infection will settle is for the last bits of root to come out which needs a hospital referral. Normally antibiotics and pain killers would keep things under control until then and will stop infection spreading. If you smoke stop as that makes things worse.

    It is unusual for a retained bit of root to cause so much trouble. Normally you can leave them to come down by them selves until they're easy to take out.

    You could ask your dentist to put urgent on the referral if you are still in alot of pain but unfortunately this doesn't often move things along any quicker.
