Are your pancakes just plain pancakes, or pre-stuffed? Sweet or not? If they're plain and unsweetened, you could use them like tortillas - whip up your mince and some of your fajita seasoning to make a filling, maybe bulk out with some of your veggies or a tin of beans, then roll up with the pancakes.

You've got the makings for a nice fish pie, too - some of your frozen fish/prawns, maybe some of your tuna, make a white sauce, top with mash or sliced potatoes, add some cheese if you feel like it. Serve with veggies.

I know what you mean about popping in for milk and coming out with half the reduced section! I had to learn to think, "Ok, I'm not saving £2, I'm spending £1.50!"

Morning, yes the pancakes are just plain pancakes ( reduced to 10p ) just another one of the many things I buy just because they are cheap :o

Can anyone tell me how I can cross out my writing so I can cross things off my list as they are being used, this way would be easier to keep track.

I am going to try and do a proper meal plan today for meals for the next two weeks, so if anyone else can come up with some nice recipies out of the food list I would be very grateful. We seem to eat the same sort of meals week in week out, so am looking forward to eating different things thatI wouldn't have thought to put together like Lynzpower's spag bol pasta bake or Ytaya's fish pie.

another thing we used to have as kids was like a "snack tea" almost like a mini buffet which woud use up some of the sausage rolls, nuggets adn then have bread, wedges picky bits. Good for an afternoon of film watching with the kids :)

Out of all the meals I plan and prepare, my dd's love 'picky-tea' the most. We have the finger foods, sausage rolls that need using up etcetera.

They dont get 'picky-tea' that often though, as I feel guilty that they're not getting a balanced meal, but once in a while doesn't hurt.

To cross words out, either go to the advanced screen, or just type <STRIKE> text you want crossed out</STRIKE>, but replace the <> with [ and ].

    OOOOOOHHHH - savoury meat roll....
use 1/2 your pack of minced beef
defrost a couple of your sausages, remove the skins - or use some of your pork sausagemeat stuffing
mix the 2 together...easier with your hands
mash about 1lb potatoes (even better if you have cold left overs from another meal)
cook a chopped onion...i micro mine
mix them all together with seasoning
And then you want to roll out shortcrust to a long oblong, pile the mix down 1 side and roll...and bake until golden...yummy
You can use the filling to make pies.pasties, but if you roll it the pastry in the middle soaks up all the flavour..and younger ones who dont like "crusty" bits wont realise its there :-).... i know because this was one my mum used to make when i was wee and didnt like crusts :-)....it is great with home made mushy peas n gravy.... hope it helps..jill
