I can answer. No (regulatory body) registration or qualification is required to be a Social Work Assistant (that title doesn't legally exist, but the role referred to is clear). You must obviously undergo an enhanced CRB check.0

If you have been made redundant, contact your local FE College as there is a fund called ESF (European Social Fund) Skills Support for Redundancy (SSR). Not all colleges have access to it but many do. It will pay for your re-training so you can change careers after redundancy. You can PM me and I will let you know your nearest college with the funding.0
