Not illegal, it is unlawful (potentially). If you are going to make a complaint make sure you at least get your terminology correct.i would go into your branch to resolve this. tell them you were told they would extend your overdraft. and, that once you took some money out they changed their mind and charged you! it really is a massive charge and also 'illegal'. if they no again, let them know you will put it in writing and make a complaint.0 -
I do not think YB was making a directed point:D , but as a snior, whose mum and dad had to make the wages last the week, and also brought up before so many gadgets ad nick-knacks etc were available, I see his point. I sincerely hope you can find some way to get out of the fix. The shame is that some will not bite the bullet and make sacrifices to achieve that. And what are some of those sacrifices compared to what some people- Zimbabwe, Dafur- have to bearOh, and Yorkshire Boy, out of your list, the only thing we have is mobile phones.
GOOD LUCK:beer:0 -

In early 70's PE lessons, you could see the boys who'd got themselves part-time jobs (I had at least 2, and up to 3 or 4 during the summer months, from age 11 to 16) as they were wearing 'branded' trainers...Mitre, Hi-Tec, etc - but kids today won't even wear those!!
Everyone else had the Winfield pumps with the rubber toecaps...remember Billy Casper swinging from the cross bar in the film Kes? :rotfl:0 -
Were they not just plimsoles?

They're being sold as retro items now!0 -

Cor we dreamed of having our own plimsolls!
In the 50's I was a "slipper monitor". That entailed looking after the box of communal plimsolls that were given out before games and collected back afterwards.
............ and I used to take the box home to sleep in ....0 -
Going back to the overdraft problem... it's not something I'd usually do, but in this posiition it can be a lot cheaper to get a cash withdrawal on a credit card and pay it in to your current account, if necessary.0
