HOMEBASE small glitch on half-price plants

I went into homebase today .. they had some half-price plants outside store. £1.75 for 12 pansies. I picked up 3 lots took them to the checkout and as the original offer was 3for £9 it took off a further 75pence making 36 pansies for £4.50. these were the small varieties and also the giant trailing ones:j

This usally works, but beware the hand-written orange label. If the price has to be entered manually rather than scanned the additional multibuy saving does not work.0 -
Not sure if this applies to other stores. I was just at Homebase Cheltenham and by the till they have some large trolleys full of Pansies and Violas (the 6 plug per pack ones usually £3.50 each or 3 for £9). A staff member told me they've ordered too many so they're giving them away and to just help yourself.
I left with 4 packs of pansies and there were still plenty left when I left the store about 15 mins ago.

This was also happening at the catford store so maybe coutrywide?

Got some free pansies too! Security guard was offering them to everyone x0
