Where to buy aircon unit for a good price?

Summer is upon us and I want to buy a decent small aircon unit for my mother, for her bedroom average size. Any recommendation as to which unit/shop to buy from. As well as value for money, preferrably it'll be low noise level too, Thanks.

Have a look at the ones COMET make. We ran 2 of them throughout last Summer with no problems. The units are noisy but if she cools her bedroom down before retiring she should get a reasonable nights sleep. We also run a ceiling fan during the hot nights. These run fairly quietly and are effective.

I managed to get this one on the whatsgoingcheap site (argos returns) got it for half price due to a couple of scratches at the base which you cannot see. I am very pleased with it , works really well and is not too noisey.

Also quite interested in one that will keep my bedroom cool that i can keep on throughout the day while in bed ( i work nights) as i have to keep the windows closed due to the local little darlings playing in the road in front of the house!!!!
