JSA Question

Hello all
Okay i was on jsa last year (roughly 9+ months ago, cant remember an exact time frame but definately over 6 months).
And then unfortunately a family member (my nan) passed away. So I went to live with my grandad up north temporarily to help him sort everything out (My sister who is a primary school teacher, and my mum who works in a hospital could not get enough time off work, obviously they attended the funeral etc). But as i was unemployed my grandad asked if i stayed with him for a bit (for obvious reasons). I notified the job centre of this and told them to stop my jsa as i would not be signing on as i had bigger things to worry about.
My grandad then decided to relocate, so is renting his house out (he owns it) and decided to come and move down to London so he is closer with us and not so alone. So i stayed with him and helped him find a place and help him with the move and moving all of his stuff down etc.
I only recently got back a couple of weeks ago, and to my disappointment i had a huge bulk of letters from the job centre stacked up about missed appointments etc etc (with Reed partnership too)
I have put in a new claim and i have my interview tomorrow. Just wanted to ask because of what has happened (and i have remained unemployed since) will these circumstances effect my claim?
Any help is much appreciated, thanks

All you can do is tell them the truth.
Did you notify them in writing or do you have the name of the person who you notified to stop your JSA.
That's about all I can help with to be honest.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Just got back from my interview.
I told them the truth and told them if needed they can go up to sheffield and look at my nans grave lol. The woman was very nice and didnt question it anyway.
I filled out the agreement and paper work, and got my next sign on date. She said the paper work needs to be sent to glasgow and they will write to me within 7-10 working days, so i guess it is just a waiting game now0 -
You will get a letter saying that a "a doubt has been raised about your claim" (possibly more than one) as to why you didn't attend such and such appointment on such and such date etc etc...and you will have to reply on the back why you did miss them.
As I understand the rules, if you sign off, ALL appointments are cancelled, IN THEORY, but in fact an automatic "flag" is set on the system that you have missed an appointment. It will be the work program providers appointment most likely.
Just write what you put in your first post, and send it back within ten days.
CAB might help but you probably won't have time to see them if you are to get the letter back within the ten days.
Just done this myself.
You will also have to wait until your work program provider sends for you again (re-engagement)
The entire thing is an utter shambles.0
