Hi - I'm just popping in tonight (though I think last time I said that, I was here all evening:D) - tonight (and tomorrow, Morries check) was going to be my day off here but just thought I'd tell you of my success with a mis-price tonight.
I went and did a womble trip after work, and it does sometimes pay to go not to the nearest A but to the next one a few miles along. Thanks to whoever told us about the glue stick earlier (50p, but shelf said 25p). I tried yesterday and found it correctly priced. However, tonight I looked just a little more along that shelf - and found three rollback items at 25p each. Some paper clips, an eraser and a folding Helix ruler. Well, I thought, I bet one of those is really 50p. After twice passing the shelf and wondering whether to chance my luck, I took one of each to the SS and scanned them.
It was the bendy ruler that scanned at 50p. I scanned the other two items, they were each 25p (and I quickly 'changed my mind' about those). So 25p refund from CS - which I think is all they were going to give me - and then, at the right moment, I asked whether I'd get a £2 gift card. Immediately, no problem, no question asked, she got out a gift card.
So a folding ruler for minus £1.75! Here it beats the amount that would have been given on T's DTD!:p
Heard the CS say "we'll need to change the price", so sorry folks it may have gone. But eyes peeled in the stationery just in case those 25ps are really 50p.
It's not £2 cash, but a £2 giftcard. Of course, it benefits the store to give giftcards, as they expect us to return - and most likely do a shop of far more than the giftcard amount. Well....!!:rotfl:
In effect it has paid for the petrol (as I shop at A anyway), so I'm already in profit. As for the wombles, we shall see...
After that store, I drove back home, into Aldi on the way - and there's def. something strange about me! - I keep looking for Sada receipts on the car-park floor:rotfl::rotfl:now but of course they are all Aldi! Aldi have the oranges packs at 69p (not as good as the low of 39p I've seen before, but better than most of the prices of the majors I feel). They also had their Essentials Wholemeal Bread - which I saw had gone up to 50p:eek:. From 47p. Well, I'm afraid that 50p has now priced me out:rotfl: - I didn't get any at that price - hopefully I can find whoopsies instead.
Then back on to the nearest A - and another go at the bendy ruler. But it was 50p in there, so no luck.
Actually, looking at the wombles (a lot of people not buying 8 items, so quite a few have been excluded from my total), I have a couple from that store - so it may have been fruitful, who knows?
One of them initially looked good - some expensive cornflakes (I like it when they buy the expensive items!) that hopefully are cheaper in T, some sugar that is same price at T, the Large Rolls on 2 for £1 that are 2 for £1 in T as well, (oh good, I now see they bought 1 loaf of bread at £1.45!:j) but they bought a lot of coffee, at £1.75 each, so either hope that's non-comparable or else that it's on offer at T.
I've had a look on MSM.co.uk first, and I can see two coffees on there in A for £1.75. One of them is also £1.75 in T (looking good!:)) but the other is £2.18 so let's hope they bought the £1.75 one. They are the Nescafe 2 in 1 and the Nescafe 3 in 1 - let's hope they picked the right one! ....I know these are/have been on offer in M's, so my next thought was I hope the comp. vs M's doesn't come back entirely N/A due to the bank holiday. Then I saw the receipt is dated yesterday, so it may be of more luck (or not, if they haven't picked the coffee up on the APG)!
But all those coffees... make the receipt longer. They're 5 of the same one!! Counting the number of different items now, and I make it exactly eight!:j:j Or maybe it will fail! It looks like it may be a goody though, so off now to check!!:)0 -
