Morning Westie, good to see you, morning everyone! Another beautiful day here. :)

The story of these 3 young women who've been found in America after 10 years or more is striking, it's nice to hear a good news story for once and be reminded that life can pleasantly surprise us from time to time too.

Wishing one and all a good and successful day, with special thoughts going out to TinyShoes, Nannylala and HopePray. xx :A I hope your first day back isn't too taxing FloFlo.

    Lol, thank you, hun x

I heard on the news about the girls who were rescued, lets hope they can put it behind them and look forward to a real future.

    Morning folks,
Just quickly saying hello before work today as hubbys hours have changed, so he starts earlier and has gone already.
Amazing how much extra time you have when men are not under your feet :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Aww bless him, hubby I can cope with, its DD who needs to go earlier to school - drives me barmy in the morning, well in the evening too, lol.:p

    Morning everyone :)

Activia single pots now 30p at S :) So 10 for 98p as part of an A vs S shop. Love these - will add to a pizza shop later.

Thanks for that RN, well worth knowing. Could you run me through the maths on that one please, I'm getting a different (nicer! :D) result, but I really haven't woken up properly yet. :o

Indeed, obviously it's not going to be easy but thank goodness they seem to be in reasonable physical shape and they are all still young with their lives ahead of them. :A Hope they absolutely throw the book at the men involved.
    Hope is not a strategy.

Morning all - lovely sunny day here!

OH managed to clear out the gutters yesterday, and actually cleaned them at the same time. I was meant to be cleaning the patio but the pressure washer was not cooperating! Valve is doing weird things, couldn't get anything out of it at first, took it apart and greased it, now it stutters! Think I shall contact the manufacturers on this because it has only been used a few times!
any of you lovely cake bakers give me some tips on how to royal ice a cake please - is it easy? or is it a bit tricky?

It is fairly easy, but you have to marzipan it first, or put some sort of finish on it as a good base. Then you have to dry the marzipan out for about a week. Then you simply mix the royal icing as thick as you can (ignore the amount of icing sugar they say, just get as much in as you can!) and spread it on with a hot damp palette knife. You can make it more complicated if you have time and want a perfect finish, do 3 coats and sand down between coats, but you are talking about a few weeks from start to finish!
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

I used to sneak into my DD's room at night and put her clock forward by 30 minutes - made the world of difference!

Or do snow icing :rotfl: me and my mum tried to make and ice our own Xmas cake years ago and ended up roughing it all over with a fork for the snowy look :rotfl:

It would seem that one the girls at least had a child with her when rescued.

Just thank God that they managed to raise the alarm at last.
