In an attempt to stop the wall getting too crowded ;):D

    You need to buy:

    1, 3 or 5 x triggers (Dove pro-age body wash 250ml)
    Plus 1 x non trigger.

    Trigger (x1, x3 or x5):
The Pro-age shows as Dove Pro Age Body Wash (250ml) £2.25 £1.14 and therefore the net cost is 28p

    Non triggers (x1):

    Confirmed ;
    Lynx Shower Gel - Rise (250ml) £2.37 £1.00 (3p NET)
    Lynx Shower Gel - Cool Metal (250ml) £2.37 £1.00 (3p NET)
    Lynx Shower Gel - Sport Blast (250ml) £2.37 £1.00 (3p NET)
Dove Wash - Triple Moisturising Beauty Care £2.25 £1.14 (28p NET)
    Dove Wash - With Shea £2.25 £1.14 (28p NET)
    Dove - Silk Glow £2.25 £1.14 (28p NET)
Arm and Hammer - White advanced SENSITIVE (pink box, bc6422) (25p NET)

    Not Confirmed (NON triggers) as far as I can see;
    3p NET cost:
    Lynx Body Wash:
    Fever
9p PROFIT: (Paid to take away)
    L'Oreal Men Expert Deo:
    Fresh Extreme
    Kick
    Full Power
    Carbon Protect

Or simply 2, 4 etc PRO-AGE alone (with fillers of course)

    Thank you.

I found this initially confusing with a reference to "triggers" and "non-triggers" - specifically the Dove Pro Age 250ml being referred to as a "trigger" - but, having seen how it's appearing on an APG price comp. (such as http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=60958163&postcount=3034
and also the immediately preceding post http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=60960073&postcount=3086), I now understand what's meant.

This is a m'buy glitch where mix and matching aren't recognising the multibuy. Both items (in the 'any 2 for...') are appearing on the comparison, but comparing from full price for each.

I'd have considered a 'trigger' to be one of those items missing from MSM and the comparison. In that situation, you pay the m'buy instore but the other item - the 'non-trigger' - compares full price vs hopefully much cheaper elsewhere.

However I recall that Ambrosia pudding and the like were described as 'triggers' even though they appeared on the comp. (What they did was to cause other items to take a lower price at the rival - for example when APG seemed to go "3 for 2 and get most expensive ones free" rather than "3 for 2 cheapest item free".)

Really the Dove and other situation is a multibuy glitch. Similar to the missing multibuys on MSM - or maybe the Dove Pro Age is missing its multibuy on MSM, which is why, even if another item in the same offer has the multibuy on, it isn't being recognised (in combo with the Dove). Presumably 2x Dove Pro Age and nothing else would work if that's the case? (NB: I haven't looked at the Dove product on MSM.co.uk, I'm just responding on the basis of the post at the moment.)

It seems to me that 2 of the same item is more likely to recognise the m'buy rather than mixing items - however there are a number of examples where this isn't so - e.g. the Walkers Classic Crisps had to be that specific one, as that had an incorrect price at the competitor (that was slightly different as they weren't on A multibuy but rather the multibuy price for the competitor had come up incorrectly, hence why buying 1 didn't work, nor did mixing with another product on the rival's multibuy since, it seemed, the incorrect info. had been collected only for the one specific product). Normally though I tend to think it more likely mix and matches will be missed rather than m'buys on one product - but a number of examples show this to be wrong.

Anyway, however you define 'trigger', this is a mix and match with a multibuy not being picked up for A. In fact it's more than likely better than the 'missing item not on MSM or APG' thing 'that then triggers... etc.'. This is because the multibuy on the mix isn't picked up but then both items still appear on the APG and a refund is given in respect of both of them (each cheaper at the rival), rather than only one appearing on the comp and refunding whilst a missing trigger item, which helps set off the full price for the other item on the A side of the comp., nevertheless does not give back anything itself - due to it being missing from the comp.

You mustn't get 2 others - has to be just a single 'other' or the 'others' will pair up at 2 for £3. You can have any odd number of pro age then you will have an even total.

Very good point (and fits in well, I feel, with my last post).

Hi. Come on, aau1, you know me better than that!:D I'm not going to go for merely "better than half price" offers!

This is too expensive for me as M's own brand cod fish fingers were £2.00 for 20 (no longer exist I'm afraid). The Youngs I think are 10 pack - so £1.00 more for 20 than the own-brand that M don't appear to sell anymore.

M's own brand is now a 10pack at £1.25 (if you want cod, still cheaper than Young's at £1.50) but that's just too much of a price increase for me and Aldi's cod fishfingers aren't any cheaper!

I've looked on MSM and it does appear A have the Youngs, both cod and non-cod, at £1.50. Avs M on the Young's would equate to £1.35 (10% off £1.50) - I'm not sure whether this is the cod or the non-cod or whether it's both - no :o here since I have noticed the 'offer', but discarded it as being too expensive. Moreover, the Bird's Eye Cod Fishfingers are the same size of pack (10 and 280g) but compare to T, with price glitch, at 99p. 10% off 99p for Bird's Eye or 10% off £1.50 for Young's?

[Edit: BE with glitch Avs T works out cheaper than the own-brand M Cod I was buying, so I'm now sticking with the BE!]

    It's £1.50 for 20 Youngs ;)

I mentioned earlier that my A. didn't have the Dove pro-age, just an empty space with an out of stock SEL.:((I am sure the manager must read this thread and remove all glitchy items, as there weren't any razors when they were glitching, and for a big store it is quite strange!)

Anyhow, as I had gone prepared with a shopping list, I bought all the other items that were on it.There might be some good fillers here for people who are able to get the Dove glitch.:)
