A question for you avid gardeners . I planted some purple sprouting broccoli last year from seed and transplanted into raised beds in April last year. It says on the packet that the spears should be about 6" in length when cut. Now, every time I find one ready for cutting another side shoot appears and I'm not sure whether to cut this off with the bigger head IYSWIM or leave it. I've taken a couple of pics for you to see.

TBH the plants got mullered by caterpillar last summer but I think the snow and the birds have killed off any late nesting visitors, so I've given the plants a good feed and all seems well lately. I've read in me gardening books that the sprouting broccoli is for the patient gardener as it takes about a year from sowing to harvest :eek:

We grow purple sprouting but Mr TS is in charge of it, he has taken DD2 back to uni so I won't be able to ask him until later.

Most of the t's that I visit do not have the 2 for 1 sel up but they still come off at the till. Offer finishes on Tuesday.hth

Thanks. This store did have the SEL's up but had changed them which is what threw me. I best see if I can finish them off today.

Yes it's the 2ltr bottles sorry and the birds eye was chilli lime fish fusions.

They are labelled at £1 each but will go through at £1 for two. I had the same label in my Tosco.
