How do you clean your Dry Body Brush

Hi all
I'm new to the whole dry body brushing, but I've just purchased the Elemis Dry Body Brush.
It stated on the website I brought it from, that the brush is not meant to get wet, so to clean, simply spray some tea tree oil on it.
Is spraying tea tree oil really enough to properly clean the brush? I know it has anti-bacterial and anit-fungal properties, but what about washing all those dead skin cells away?
Also, would you dilute the tea tree oil before spraying, or spray neat?
