Free Vodafone PAYG Sim and port your number over at the same time

This is posted on the mobile phone forum but I thought it would be useful here also.
I've just dug out a couple of free Voda PAYG sim cards to port some phone numbers onto. As it turns out I didn't have to.
I contacted a customer service assistant using the sim and she told me that Vodaphone will send out PAYG sim card Free of Charge that will have the numbers ported onto them!
So, if you want to port a number onto voda, phone their PAYG dept and simply ask them to organise the porting of your numbers onto free PAYG sim cards.
Mine are due to arrive in 3 to 5 days and the numbers will port onto them in 5 working days. Apparently I should receive the sim cards before the numbers are ported over.
BTW, each voda sim card comes with £1 credit on it and you get another £1 for registering it.
That'll be fine for me as I'll probably want to port the number to another network provider on contract soon.
